Individuality Project

First there was the Cheddar Individuality Project in 2023 inspired by sculptor Antony Gormley’s terracotta figures. 1,300 individual clay figures were made by the community of Cheddar and the surrounding areas in workshops with local ceramic artist Bridget Hemmings. The success of the project allowed the Individuality Project to run in 2024 when 300 of Sedgemoor’s communities in Highbridge, Bridgwater and the surrounding villages came together to celebrate their individuality, difference and uniqueness by creating ceramic figures to represent how they saw themselves. This culminated in a fabulous exhibition in the Seed Sedgemoor pop up shop in Bridgwater.

Now in 2025 we are launching the Individuality Project - Creative Writing workshops. Each 2 hour workshop will be led by an experienced writer Rachel Bunce, who will support and guide you through the writing process to celebrate individuality. Once the workshops have been held the writing will be brought together in the production of a beautiful book to share.
